Distractions #1: Tarot Reading

I came to a realization last night, but I’ve been putting off posting it for six hours, so I’m going to take a day or two to go over it a few times before I make it public. Who knows? In a few days things my get better for me, but I highly doubt it.

In the meantime, here’s something distracting that’s fun; give it a shot. Apparently I’m the devil, but I think most of us already knew that, didn’t we?

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

This is why I don't believe in horoscopes. I do, however, like the idea of being a devil.

And why can't devils exist without angels, hmm? Because the good book says so? What if I told I had a bad book that says not.

Well, good can't exist without evil. And technically speaking Satan is very children of Abraham religion type stuff. But I guess you could believe that there are bad things without any counterpart, but I've always believed that the Universe tries to find a balance on it's own.
As my Shaman always said: "Those who believe in complete evil without anything else have never had good ice cream."

I'm not arguing that good can't exist without evil. But devils and evil are not the same thing. You're the one clumping them together. Well, you and the good book.

(mumble grumble... lousy good book, it's the worst book I've ever read...)

Well traditionally devils were in the evil camp. I'm not saying that evil is bad, it's just one side of the spectrum. If it weren't for evil, we wouldn't have free will(at least according to some schools of thought).
You should read the Inferno, that's a good book!
